- HOW TO COOK: Add a little salt and water to this flour, Mix well without lumps to make a fine batter. Add some grated vegetables to enrich the taste. This Batter can be used to make dosa, crepes or pan cakes as per idea.. Add water little to flour and make a soft dough, make it small balls and roll it flat to make healthy rotis. Smear ghee for richness.
- RECIPE: Little millet flour can be combined with various small grains to create adai. This versatile flour can also be used to prepare biscuits, porridge, idli, dosa, and puttu.
- CULTIVATION: Little millet has been cultivated in Asian region. In India, its cultivation is mostly confined to the the tribal belt of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Little millet can be grown on a wide range of soilsincluding waterlogged soils.25-30 cm (row to row), 8 10 cm (plant to plant). The seed should be planted 2-3 cm in depth. Early sowing within 7 to 10 days of the onset of monsoon. Harvest is done once the ear-heads are physiologically mature.
